Keep Those Receipts!

It really helps one to keep documentation. I’ve found this out the hard way professionally, but man, it becomes so much easier when one can back up a claim with screenshots, pictures, recordings, the whole deal. I’m not saying take someone to court with your findings, but be prepared and able to do so.

Suppose a kid says to me, ‘but I spent loads of time on the study guide in class!’ Um, nope, the monitoring software showed you spent exactly nine minutes out of a roughly fifty minute class period on the actual study guide, and the rest trying to get onto games/Youtube/music/everything else I blocked on the first day of school. Here’s the screen logs and pictures to prove it.

It’s a good life practice, too. Someone starts messing about with your life and you can get documentation of some kind? Do it! Take pictures, screenshots, anything. Keep that stuff filed away, either in your brain or electronically. That way, if you ever do need to take action, you can, and you’ve already gone a long way to satisfying your burden of proof. If the person in question gets in hot water, legally or otherwise? Not your problem. Actions have consequences.

Luckily for pretty much everyone around me, I’m a Libra. It takes a LOT to push a Libra to the point of retaliation.

But if you do manage to push us that far?

Hoo boy.
