Silverside

A research project for an advanced science class is going to teach some high school students a few things.

Thing number 1: Group projects are awkward. 

Thing number 2: Grabbing dinner with your group reduces the awkwardness.

Thing number 3: Mermaids are real.

Thing number 4: Mermaids are more than willing to take a few chunks out of you.

When four high school students are assigned a research project, things take a turn for the bizarre when they find an injured mermaid in a cave.  The mermaid, called Silverside by the friends, was badly wounded from a collision with a boat. Her kind normally stay far away from humans, but Silverside is too badly hurt to refuse help. Other things are coming up from the deeps as well, and they are even less friendly than Silverside. Many are hell-bent on re-enacting Moby Dick in the modern day. What is driving these leviathans out of deep water, and will the friends be able to get Silverside mended and released before she is discovered?
